A new three day immersive experience in beadmaking over the course of a weekend. Exploring the foundations of the materiality of glass.
You will learn and focus on shape and forming beads, improving your heat control, surface decoration and creating a sample strand to showcase. Working with frits and reticello to create basic cane, encasing stripes and flowers.
Day 1
1- Practise pulling stringers from super thick to super thin creating an archive for various applications.
2-.Form and understanding how to shape the beads with heat, gravity and rotation. Learning how to make beads of the same size and shape on one mandrel.
3- Basic dots application and placement.
Day 2
1- Encased cane and exploring variations for design and variegated effects
2- Rainbow beads, triangle beads and striped beads.
3- Bicone and tubular beads.
Day 3
- Beads of flowers
- Basic encasing and perfecting the technique
- Exploration of color interactions and reactions with frits and rods.
